Summary
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing. We use PostHog (Cloud, US region) to collect analytics and diagnostics to improve AmaNous. During alpha/beta, analytics cannot be opted out of, but we will notify you in-app when you open the app.
AmaNous is designed to work without you creating an account. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or precise GPS location to use the app. We may collect analytics and diagnostics as described below.

Information we collect
AmaNous may collect analytics and diagnostics including app activity (interactions, feature usage, navigation), basic session activity (frequency of app usage), crash logs, diagnostics and performance data (errors, latency, stability signals), a pseudonymous User ID, device information (model, OS version, app version, language), and approximate location (city/region) inferred from IP.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or contacts. We do not collect precise GPS location.
We design analytics to avoid collecting the text/content you load into AmaNous. In rare cases, crash diagnostics might capture technical context if needed to fix bugs. Your reading/listening content is intended to stay on your device.
How we use and share data
We use analytics and diagnostics data to understand feature usage, improve the user experience, diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve app performance and reliability.
We do not share user data with other companies for their marketing. We use PostHog (Cloud) as our analytics provider, hosting and processing data in the United States (US region).
Where required by law, we rely on consent or another lawful basis to process analytics and diagnostic data. During alpha/beta, analytics collection is part of how the app operates; you’ll be notified in-app.
Data retention, security, and your choices
We keep analytics and diagnostics data only as long as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, and improve AmaNous, and to meet legal or security obligations if applicable.
We use reasonable security measures, including encryption in transit and internal access controls.
During alpha/beta, analytics cannot be opted out of. You may disable network access or uninstall AmaNous to stop data collection. For data deletion, contact johannes@amanous.ai with identifying information if possible, and we will make reasonable efforts to find and delete your data.
Other details
AmaNous is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and, if changes are material, provide additional notice in-app or via the store listing where appropriate.
